About the work: Celebrating architecture without architects, this relief painting extracts a geometric detail of a colourful self-built house documented on the artist's road trip in her native Tamil Nadu, India. A region known to have inspired Ettore Sottsass, the artist dialogues with her received knowledge of Eurocentric design history vis-a-vis a flourishing contemporary vernacular in South India.
