About the work: A drawing made of a painting I made during the 1990's  but is now  lost , I made the drawing to remember the painting  . Based on a portrait of Anne of Denmark that is in The Royal Collection.

Bio: From 1990–2000 Stephen Farthing  was the Ruskin Master of Drawing at the University of Oxford; from 2000–04 he was director of the New York Academy of Art. . Farthing  represented Britain at the  1989 Sao Paulo Biennale . He was Artist in Residence at the Hayward Gallery in 1989,His most recent one person show’s include:   Strike a Pose Stephen Farthing and the Swagger Portrait – at Kenwood,  London , 2024 ,   The Miracle paintings , Salisbury Cathedral. 2018 , Titian’s Ghosts,  National Trust , Ham House , London 2014 and  The Back Story was staged in November 2010 at the Royal Academy of Arts .
