Niloofar Taatizadeh

Title: Mutations of U, او

Year: 2024

Media: Digital Embroidery on Silk

Size: 67 x 40 cm

About the work: This body of work explores the cultural shaming of Iranian bodies within a colonial context. Taatizadeh experiments with various materials while examining the transition from analogue to digital forms. Ultimately, these materials revert to a physical state, adding multiple layers to each piece. The fabric's surface features specific motifs and silhouettes while also revealing the often-hidden elements of the artwork.
