About the work: The image is a still from a 16-minute sequence taking the building through one day and one year. It marks 6pm, when the Angelus bells ring out around the country. For a moment, the sequence pauses and all the layers become visible. It is part of an installation for the 2016 Venice Biennale.
Bio: Niall McLaughlin is an architect in practice in London. He is also Professor of Architectural Practice in the Bartlett School of Architecture in UCL.
