Marcus Jefferies
Title: Synecdoche 2
Year: 2024
Media: Giclee print on Hahnemuhle German 310g paper
Size: 29.2 x 30 cm
About the work: Jefferies creates his architectural imagery using computer rendering software and digital manipulation. Choosing to paint these simulations, he forces the image back into our physical world. By adding gestures and texture to the painted surface, the work centres on the human gaze in an increasingly mechanised landscape of image production.
Bio: Marcus Jefferies was born in Bristol, UK, and studied fine art at Wimbledon School of Art, London. He currently works and lives in Bristol and is based at Spike Island Studios. Jefferies maintains a diverse practice that incorporates, painting, sculpture, installation and design. Each field of interest informs the other to create intertwining relationships.
