About the work: This small piece of sculpture by London based artist Liane Lang shows hands delicately embracing the void on a small triangular fragment of carrara marble. The stone, associated with statuary but also memorial headstones, touches on the symbolism of stone to mark and remember great events and loved ones. Part of her series Touch Stone, the work brings together a brief gesture with a material that took eons to form.
