About the work: This is one of a related series of 24 digital prints created by the artist in 2023 and currently showing in her major solo exhibition “Anne Desmet: Kaleidoscope/London” at the Guildhall Art Gallery, London, now until 12 January 2025. All 24 prints are inspired by an earlier stone lithograph by the artist depicting the forecourt of London’s Royal Academy of Arts but photographed through a kaleidoscope app and with additional drawing in image creation software. Each print in the series portrays an imaginary London window to the sky and each contains, within its oculus, a sight that the artist has either seen, remembered or imagined.
